Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned their lights off for one hour to make their stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries participating. Global landmarks such as the, Sydney Harbour Bridge, The CN Tower in Toronto, The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.
In March 2009, hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.
Earth Hour 2010 takes place on Saturday 27 March at 8.30pm (local time) and is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community throughout the world. It is a call to stand up, to take responsibility, to get involved and lead the way towards a sustainable future. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Europe to Asia to the Americas will stand in darkness. People across the world from all walks of life will turn off their lights and join together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.
Let’s make 2010 the biggest Earth Hour yet! It’s Showtime! Show the world what can be done.
Don’t forget also the clocks go forward Saturday night.

By making a few changes to your store-cupboard and actively choosing to go meat free just once a week (and maybe more if you like the benefits) you can help effect real environmental benefits.

Visit the James Hyman Gallery in Mayfair
to see “Linda McCartney Photographs”,
the very first major exhibition of Linda’s
photographs presented in the UK.
Photographed from the 1960s up until the late 1990s, these pictures present a
personal record of the times and feature many rarely seen works, as well as better
known images.
The exhibition includes portraits of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Paul McCartney,
John Lennon, Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel, Gilbert & George and Mick Jagger.
It also presents landscapes, intimate interiors, self-portraits and family life.
Paul McCartney says: “An exhibition presenting the range of Linda’s
photographic work is long overdue, so I’m obviously pleased that this show
is happening. James Hyman, my daughter Mary, and I have worked on it now for
three years, and the result is a sensitive selection of works that really demonstrates
Linda’s creative output as a photographer. The photographs not only illustrate
her incredible talent as an artist, but as someone who was very much connected
to the culture of the times, and wasn’t afraid to challenge herself, or
her subject.”

Paul & Mary
visit the Fakenham factory
Paul and Mary recently
made a return visit to the Linda
McCartney factory in Fakenham. “It’s
great to be back” said Paul.
Their last visit had been with
Linda years earlier and the return
brought back many happy memories.
Donned in Health & Safety gear, Paul and Mary enjoyed wandering
around the facility chatting to workers on the assembly line.
They were amazed to see all of the changes and how the operation
works on a day to day basis.
With much amusement they joined in the assembly line and placed
sheets of free-range egg pasta on top of the lasagne. “It
was certainly harder than I thought . . . but I managed it” Paul
said, managing not to drop any pasta. “However, later
they told me that they’d put the line on half speed especially
for us!”
Not only did Paul and Mary participate on the factory floor
they also discussed exciting new plans for the future of the
brand.
“We had a great day, thanks to everyone!”
Paul and Mary McCartney
You can’t beat the homemade taste of our new Sausage Rolls
Linda McCartney Sausage Rolls are the latest
addition to our range of delicious, wholesome foods. They
are the perfect hearty seasonal meal or snack – a tasty
and warming treat to help you through the coldest days.
These flavourful Sausage Rolls have been made to a carefully developed recipe
that ensures a truly satisfying and home-cooked taste: A Cumberland-style vegetarian
sausage, flavoured with onions and a pinch of seasoning is wrapped in light,
crumbling, flaky pastry.
This hearty classic is best served piping hot from the oven – either alone
or accompanied by some homemade chutney. Alternatively, they work just as well
as a light meal - perhaps with lightly seasoned potato wedges and a side of fresh
butter beans for a really comforting dinner to share with friends and family.
Our vegetarian Sausage Rolls are a convenient solution, a handy standby for any
kitchen and a perfect addition to the party buffet. They are quick to bake and
simple to serve but offer all the flavour and taste of an irresistible home-baked
classic dish.
We pride ourselves on using the best wholesome and natural ingredients in each
of our products. Our latest recipes reflect Linda’s original product and
keep true to the spirit and ethos that she instilled into the range.
